CHIEF TECHNOLOGY OFFICER

Geng, a first-principles engineer at his core, is a seasoned technology leader with significant hardware and software experience across power electronics, propulsion systems, batteries, and battery management software. Geng has extensive experience managing tier-1 supplier integrations within OEMs and brings with him a wealth of knowledge spanning research, design, and development.  

Most recently, Geng was the Global Senior Director of EV Propulsion at Faraday Future, where he led the global engineering team in their development of a revolutionary 142kWh battery for the company’s 1050hp FF 91 vehicle.  

Prior to Faraday Future, Geng held key roles at Karma Automotive, leading the development of advanced powertrain technologies, power inverters, and high-voltage architectures. He also made significant contributions toward function level and safety level algorithms for e-motors while at Mercedes-Benz R&D North America.

Geng holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Beihang University, a Master’s degree in Control and Power Electronics from the Illinois Institute of Technology, and a PhD in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology. He is fluent in both English and Mandarin.
